Greetings unto the List!

WW is coming up very quickly and I would like to draw
your attention to some of the notable activities. 

In the martial realm, on Saturday 11:30AM-1PM, there
will be "Classic Battles" on the Armored Combat field.
These battles celebrate the history of WW and I hope
you will join HE Rodrigo and I on the field or watch
the battles with HE Khadijah. Go Fish! 

For fun on the light field, come join Khadijah and I
for the Baronesses' Whim, Saturday 2-4ish PM. This
year's theme is Triskaidekaphobia – An Unlucky Day at
WW XIII. I have a series of challenges planned based
on period phobias and superstitions, so come try your
luck with a Rapier!

For delights gastronomical, the Friday Festival cannot
be beat. Join us for an evening of Baronial courts,
the Iron Chef competition, and plenty of food,
beverages, entertainment and fighting. Remember if you
can to bring something (homemade or purchased) for the
open bar and munchie table. Please bring an ingredient
list for homemade items. The night will conclude with
the Torchlight Tourney (on the Village Green),
followed by the Bard of Jararvellir contest (at the
Bardic Circle).

If your interest is Arts and Sciences, we have a new
feature for you - there will be an Artisans' Row on
site this year! Bring your period craft and hang out
with other artisans while practicing your art, or drop
by AR to learn something new! Of course, the vast
range of classes offered throughout the weekend also
offer many learning opportunities if you don't find
what you are looking for on the Row!

Are you new to the SCA? All newcomers are invited to a
breakfast reception hosted by TE Khadijah and I on
Saturday from 9-10:30AM. Over a light breakfast we
will discuss the activities available on site, the
history of WW, and answer any questions you might have
about the event or the SCA.  Come meet other new
folks, enjoy some tasty treats, and learn about WW!

Shopping? Of course there is shopping! And just in
case the splendid wares of the merchants were not
enough for you, you can shop and support your Kingdom
as well, by viewing and bidding on the Silent Auction
in the Great Hall on Saturday (9AM-3PM).

You say you have an hour to spare? Don't forget to put
in some time volunteering. Many of the key crews still
need volunteers! 

This is only a very brief overview of the activities
available - I have not even discussed archery, TW,
youth activities, or many other categories of fun
activities. Be sure to check the event schedule and
event descriptions so you don't miss out on all the
fun WW XIII has to offer!
