[Jararvellir] OT: Help with making a winter coat

Good day,
I want to make a winter coat for myself. Could anybody please give me
suggestions as to what I should use to make it warm? I know using thick wool
or a fur lining are options. Are there any other options which are cheaper
but just as effective, and where could these materials be acquired?
