Uh, Hi there,
I'm Sara, and I'm pretty much brand new to the SCA thang. I was invited to and attended WW in 2004, had three of the more entertaining days of my life, but then failed due to other life obligations to really get involved with the SCA in my area at the time (Milwaukee).
I just recently moved to Madison at the end of April and am really hoping to get involved here. Unfortunately at the moment the two guilds I'm interested in meet on an evening I have to work, but I plan on making an effort to change my schedule.
My primary interests are just history in general (all sorts actually), but I am a trained hand book binder (I did an internship in Kenosha with a small book restoration company/bindery for a year and half), so I am trying to develop a character based on the history of book binding. Another excuse for me to continue making books on the side.
I am also interested in sewing (I just made my first kirtle, which I finished a few days ago, made by hand), illumination/calligraphy (basically all things book related), cooking (which isn't really a historical interest for me, but still interested), and archery (haven't tried it since high school, so that'd be interesting) - and I do plan on making either this Sundays or next Wednesdays class.
I also belly dance (American Tribal) and restarted taking classes in Madison as of this week.
Unfortunately since I just started a new job, I do not want to ask off of work for WW this (but if I manage to get involved it will be a must do thing next year)... SO, that's what motivated me to write.
Pax,
I know you don't know me, but as far as I can we live very close. I am also on the East Side about one block off of East Washington. I work till 6pm on Friday, and work Saturday night from about 3-11ish, but I would be able to stay over at your house and watch your dogs/cats. We have two wonderful fur balls ourselves (2 cats, 1 which we just adopted about a month ago), and I have experience with dogs (I've had one in the past and I grew up with dogs). My boyfriend can watch our cats while I'm away.
I love animals and would be happy to do it. I can see how you might be nervous with someone new, but I'd be happy to meet at my house or ours to talk about it in advance. The only issue is that it might be fairly obvious if you come over here that I spoil our kittens rotten (no extra food though).

or email me lostvirtue76 at yahoo.com
Sincerely,
Sara Lynn
