Greetings unto all of those that walk these Halls--
Now that the dust is settling in the frantic search to find a new site
(special thanks to our Autocrat team who put in a lot of extra hours, miles,
and a bit of blood/sweat/tears to find a site only a week after finding that
they needed one), it's time to start beating the bushes (er, make that
...ask nicely) to see if we can find volunteers to work Info Point. This
year, HE Kindorn Broadbelt and I have agreed to work on this together and
we're hoping to have a lot of fun in doing it.
Inquiring minds want to know, probably more this year than in the past,
what's going on at WW XIV!?! If YOU want to know, sign up for a shift at
Information Point! Stay on top of the day's activities and changes, help
people know what services are available in the new area, etc.
We will have the Point open from 8am to 6pm and are asking for volunteers to
work 2 hour stints (already have our first volunteer, THANK YOU, ERILAR).
You can see which shifts are available (and see who else is kind enough to
volunteer) by going to http://www.warriorsandwarlords.org/infopt.html . To
volunteer, please send an email to volunteer at warriorsandwarlords.org with
the department and timeslot you are interested in! The sooner all the slots
are filled the less emails you will see from me bugging you to volunteer.
Now, you might be asking what you get for volunteering besides that
wonderful warm feeling in the pit of your tummy. I'll be putting together a
grab bag of prizes for all volunteers. Each person who volunteers will be
able to pick something from a bag of prizes and then drop their name in a
drawing for something really kewl at the end. I'm not above bribing
volunteers. It's not like I won't be at the Point a lot of the weekend but
if I don't have to work, and only think, I'm fine with that. (After all, I
need someone to watch the booth while I'm out taking pictures.) I suspect
there will be some other perks for volunteers as well.
So, volunteer soon and join in the fun.
