[Jararvellir] News on NCN campground

This is an update on the NCN campground situation. Baroness Marwen sent
this post to the Nordskogan list, and I thought it spelled out things
nicely.

We have some news to share regarding the cancellation of our WW contract
with Marv/NCN Campground.
Because of the wording of our contract, it is almost certain that there
were will be additional financial penalties due to Marv for our
cancellation from the WW site this year. This matter is being handled
By the SCA, Inc. legal resources and the Board of Directors. In this
process, there is potential that the Baronies will need to contribute to
the financial settlement, as we signed the contract.
 
We will share more information as it becomes available. In the meantime,
everyone can help by NOT discussing this with media, lawyers, non-SCA
people, etc. We need to let our legal team do their work.
 
What can we take away from this in the short term? The contracts we sign
*matter.* 99 times out of 100 everything goes great, but when it
doesn't, those words on the paper are crucial.  Make sure your contracts
have
fair "out" clauses for both parties, and are an accurate representation
of your group's expectations.
