[Jararvellir] Linguistic aid

Hi all,

  A co-worker of mine asked if I knew any "medieval sounding phrases" for a
project he's working on.  One of his relatives is moving to the Milwaukee
area, and he's making him a gift of a nice walking staff (they went to
Bristol and had a great time.)  He'd like to carve a phrase on the staff,
something to do with "going forward", or "welcome."

I was hoping some of you who are particularly creative or more knowledgeable
in other languages might help with some ideas.  Latin in particular always
sounds neat.

I'll also be sending him a link to info on whatever SCA group(s) are in that
area - he described his relative as "techy-geeky," so I find it likely they
may enjoy visiting the local SCA group after they settle in.
