Hi all- your evil Sheriff Trystan here, with good news! Madison Opera is
putting on a production of Lucia di Lammermoor, with fight choreography by
the professional Jeff Skubal. They need 4 more fighters besides me and I
told them that we might be able to recruit a few from the ranks of the Jara
fencing force. The schedule is pretty hectic, so you lose a week of your
life (well, at least evenings and weekends) but it sure is fun to be able to
say that you were in the opera. If you can make all the practices and want
to work with a REAL fight choreographer this is your big chance. We only
want to send them people who can hold their own with a sword, because we
want Madison Opera to call us again if they have similar needs, but if we
can field a cast of 4-5 skilled fencers it would be great PR for the SCA and
great fun and experience for those who end up participating. I've done it a
couple of times and Guillaume has done it once. Who's in? (If you're a
skilled heavy fighter with a modicum of light experience I'm sure you're
qualified as well- swords am swords- long as you can follow instruction).
