Greetings unto the List!
Her Excellency Shava has already given a pretty fair summary of the day, but now that I have had time to collect my thoughts, I would like to add my notes and thanks.
First of all, greatest thanks to Dame Josceline, our most capable autocrat. Though the site threw us some curve balls and attendance was low for a number of reasons, she organized and executed a beautiful event. In addition to the thanks of the Barony, she has my personal thanks for obliging many of my whims regarding the schedule, event content, and such.
Close behind must come thanks to Conner, the feast steward. He produced a most delicious and filling feast. Rarely have I heard people more contented after a feast. Even I, who has been known to be at times a picky eater, enjoyed each and every one of the dishes. Not just ate, mind you, but actually thoroughly enjoyed!
Thanks also to the rest of the event staff and all the helpers too numerous to name. Without your dedication, such events would be impossible.
As this was an educational event, thanks are also due to all our teachers, in particular our keynote speaker, Bob Charron/Duke Conn, and to the class coordinator, Lady Ermina.
Congratulations are due to a few people as well - Congratulations to Masha and Helena on their Awards of Arms, to Paul and Toissaint on being inducted into the Pisces, to Annora of Dunsford and one other lady on their Alistair's Lamps, and to Lisa and Hyacinth on their Awards of the Zephyrus. In addition to the Awards, several new Baronial Champions were announced - Sarra Romney is the new Arts and Sciences Champion, Robert the Stout will serve as Armored Champion, and Hroswitha as the Rapier Champion. Immediately after Court, Lady Sile was Crowned our new May Queen and led the May Pole Dance to bring in the spring. Vivant for all these gentles!
And, of course, thanks to all of you who traveled to share this day with Jararvellir - from jara expatriates from across the continent all the Baronage of Northshield, to friends from near and far, it was a delight to share the day with such good friends!
So, Vivant to the Staff, Vivant to those honored in Court, and Vivant to 35 years of learning and friendship in the Barony of Jararvellir!
Yours in Fishy Service~
