My notes from the meeting of two weeks ago at Van Cleve park:

- we discussed trying to incorporate medieval names for the hours into the
schedule. they consist of the chinese zodiac animals, having 2 hrs each.
we're not going to be strictly accurate but instead maybe use the names to
apply to the 12 hrs of our event (9am-9pm), alongside modern clock hours so
as to not confuse people horribly. or something like that...

- we talked about when to close troll in the afternoon/evening, and came up
with some ideas: close it at a set time, close it when it's boring, close it
in the afternoon then open it again for feast... we haven't decided yet. or,
I suppose, as the person in charge of troll, I haven't decided yet...

- Ciara, I need to know if there's going to need to be a separate
registration for feast so I can include it in pre-reg or not, and I'm hoping
to open pre-reg by the end of this week. Would I be able to get that
decision/information from you by then?

- we also talked about the site tokens, for which we'd like to have omikuji
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omikuji,
http://www.jun-gifts.com/others/favoriteplaces2/favoriteplaces2.htm,
http://eos.kokugakuin.ac.jp/modules/xwords/entry.php?entryID=331), fortunes
on thin sheets of paper sorted in a small chest of drawers by how lucky or
unlucky the fortunes are, chosen by shaking a stick out of a box of sticks
with numbers on them, and pulling open a drawer with the corresponding
number and taking your fortune. the attendee either keeps the paper or both
the paper and stick (we've plenty of sticks), and somehow we'd indicate
whether or not they also signed up/paid for feast on the stick and/or paper.
then the attendee could tie the paper on the maple trees?

while beth was at pennsic I was deputy autocrat for the event, but not much
happened. at least concerning the event. actually, that's not true. i'm not
sure how the bridge collapse will complicate driving directions to the event
site (other than it will), so we'll have to keep that in mind when posting
directions on the site...

IS,

Gudrun
