Greetings

Autumn Rose is the annual event/ public demo hosted by the Shire of Rokeclif at the Trempeleau County Fair grounds in Galesville, WI.

For the past few years a group of Pyxis have gathered to form a artisans row as part of the event and we will be doing it again this year and are looking for people to join us.

  FAQs

1) Do I need to be a Pyxis to join you?
Absolutely not! The reason it is called Pyxis Row is because it was started by a group of Pyxis to establish an area at Autumn Rose where we could feature our period structures and activities as part of the demo. If you want to join us and demonstrate a period craft or simply help speak to people about what we are doing, please join us.

  2) Do I need a period tent?
If you intend to camp with us, then yes, you will need a non modern tent. However we will have a large shade fly and there will be plenty of room under it for people to come and join us during the day. All you will need is something to sit on (preferrably something period), a craft to demonstrate and yourself. If you are camping in your modern tent please set up your camp in the general camping area and spend time with us on Saturday sharing our shade.

  3) What should I talk about?
We find that it helps to bring a simple project that allows you to easily interract with the public and answer their questions. If you have a project that will allow a member of the public to try it, even better. Your focus should be on engaging in a conversation with a guest and saving your social time for after the demo.

If this sounds like fun but you have specific questions that I have not answered, please contact me privately valkyr8 at yahoo dot com

  Hope to see you there!
