Hello All,
Our next meeting is Monday, July 23rd, an event planning meeting, to be held
at Beth's.
Please review the "event planning meeting report - we made decisions!,
things to be done" email I posted to the tor aerie list on monday, July 9th,
to get an update on what we need to do/talk about. Feel free to print it out
and highlight/take notes on it as necessary for ease of processing such a
long email (that's what i've done...).
We are placing our event in the Sengoku (warring states) period (mid-1400s
to just before 1600) because it is late period and more likely to validate
contact between Japan and the West? I ask because I do not remember exactly
why we chose this period... although I may have already answered myself.
Just want confirmation from others so we are all on the same page...
I may not be at next monday's event planning meeting because of a goodbye
party. Would anyone be willing/able to either have the meeting on Sunday
night (Beth especially, as host), July 22nd, instead, or have another
(couple of) event planning meeting(s) before the month is up, as we have a
lot we need done by the end of the month? (I'm sorry if this would be too
much for you, Beth, and if it is we can convene somewhere else, like Nolte
if it's open.)
Would people be willing to make Monday the 30th an event planning meeting as
well, instead of a restaurant eat-out night?
The site tour today went really well. Beth, Eyja, Reifr, Ciara, Ciara's
sister (omg, i'm sorry i don't know your name! i heard it earlier today,
too... ;_;), and I recieved site maps and some of us took notes on them, as
we wandered around and were shown things by Ruth Thillen, Ciara's mum and
our site contact (she will be on site for the event, too). It is a nice site
and we are excited! Ciara said she would scan and rename rooms on the site
map for our use (thank you!). Ciara has also agreed to be our Feastocrat!
(thank you again!)
So that leaves... six (maybe four) event officerships left to be filled:
volunteer wrangler, web mistress (which lea seems to have taken on), site
booklet/signs/directions coordinator, musician coordinator (which eyja's
sort of doing), advertising coordinator/officer, and decorations
officer/coordinator. Please fill as you can, and review my previous event
report for description of duties.
IS,
Gudrun
