Hey, folks. Christian d'Hiver here, de-lurking for a moment. Her Ladyship
Caoilfhionn has some terrific advice, which I wish more event stewards and
event-planning groups would heed.

Most events break fees down into adults, kids 6-12, and 5 and under. 5
> and under are usually free, because they're just tagging along with

A couple of notes to add:

* Children *who get discounted site fees* don't have to pay the NMS. If a
child pays full price, the NMS applies.

* From one event to another in Northshield, there's no commonly-accepted
cut-off as to who's a "youth" and who's not. For example, 18-year-olds
still got the youth discounts at WW this month (but I don't think that
kingdom officers would tolerate an event that set the cut-off any old than
that).

If you set the youth-adult break-point at 12, then teens will pay full price
(including the NMS, if applicable). If you set it high, then interested
high-schoolers (and possibly incoming college freshmen) could get in
cheaper. (It doesn't have to even be that much of a discount. $1 off site
fee waives the requirement for the NMS.)
